The New Dominion magazine readers are influential, educated, and informed – and are often people who are involved in their communities serving on non-profit boards or volunteering for causes important to them. Many of our readers are from higher academia, or are doctors, lawyers, or educators. According to a study by the City and Regional Magazine Association, each individual copy of a regional interest magazine is read by an average of four individuals who are influential in shaping the attitudes and opinions of the communities they serve.

The New Dominion magazine was launched in January 2007 due to reader demand. While consumers loved our long-format stories, many people desired having the stories in a publication that they could read while sipping lemonade on their back porches or riding the exercise bike. Meeting the demand, our print magazine provides in-depth news that is of interest to everyone in the Shenandoah Valley and Central Virginia. Areas of emphasis include politics, society, economy, pop culture and more.

We offer free distribution in Waynesboro, Staunton, Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, Lexington and surrounding areas. We do not exceed 40 percent ad space in our magazine. Therefore, in order to avoid sell-outs, we recommend reserving space in the magazine early. We will accept ad placements up to one year in advance.
